ABOUT THE PLAY
After the successful productions of the Singai series since 2014, we are excited to present IRULIN OLI. Singai series has been about the Singapore folktales blended with some historical incidents. With experience and the feedback from the Singa (2014), Parameswaran (2015), Kattiyangaran Manickam (2016), 700 years ago in Singapore (2017) and Nool (2018) we have scripted the next production to entertain and educate our young audiences.
The story revolves around a family in the neighbourhood during a Blackout in Singapore during the early 70’s where technology has not interrupted the relationship of families and neighbours. Fortunately, During the Blackout there are many ways to entertain oneself without electronics. So a family gathers and immerses in shadow play creating shadow puppets to tell stories about Singapore and more.
